Question:

Firefox 3 crashes ON LAUNCH and I can't find any official info...?

Just downloaded Firefox 3 in the middle of trying to get some work done. It won't start up! It crashes and gives me that "Firefox had a problem and crashed" message (argh). Now I'm having to use an old browser with none of my recent bookmarks and configs (double argh). Why isn't this being addressed? I've found other posts on the problem, but nothing official and no really helpful replies -- just "go back to Firefox 2". (Have I said "argh", yet?). Any word on why I and so many other people are soon going to be looking for Firefox alternatives?

  1. ok s***w opera safari and ie they suck

make sure its firefox 3.1 which is pretty stable

and then start firefox in safe mode (disables all add-ons)

    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_Mode

    that site tells u how

but basically u just go to start-programs-mozilla-firefox(safe mode)

  2. Try uninstalling the firefox and clean the registry entries with CCleaner or some other software. After cleaning the registry and other temporary files of firefox try installing it again. It should work fine. Also keep your OS updated.

  3. i used firefox 3 until it crashed and change it with opera (way more fat than firefox) the new opera is much better than the old versions. search on google about it and u will see test in wich opera is above firefox 3 IE7 and safari

  4. I had problems with firefox 2 But not the new one

    I run in XP

Either go back to firefox 2 or try safari, Opera or slim browser
