Firefox Aim Search....?

I have Firefox on my laptop and desktop computers. On my laptop if i want to go to google.com, on the address bar i'd only need to write "google"..no "www." or ".com"...it automatically recognized it. On my desktop i hav a newer version of firefox, instead of going straight to google it goes to an aim search engine powered by google. My question is, is there any way to change the aim search back to google search such as my laptops? It's super irritating

    4. Click on the "General" tab, if it is not the first to appear.

    5. You'll see the "Home Page" box at the top.
