  1. Mcafee Site Advisor

    WOT

    Adblock Plus

  2. Whatever you find useful I don't use add-ons usually because I find them annoying but it is up to you.

  3. You'll find what ones interest you, there's thousands of great ones.

I like DownloadHelper, it downloads Youtube video's directly to your computer.

  4. firefox-

    http://firefoxfact.com/

  5. These are the things I have installed on Firefox the moment I start to set it up:

IE Tab for the rest of the world who still can't write code that lives or dies based on Internet Explorer being present. Right click on a page that doesn't load right in Firefox and reload it in an IE rendering engine. No more needing to launch another IE window for some sites.

Gmail Space so I can access my Gmail account for file storage uses.

FireFTP so I don't need an extra client to change images or pages on my website.

AdBlock Plus - it does just what the name says.

FlagFox... well... I just like it! It puts a nationality flag in your status bar to show what country the server you are accessing on the web is in.

NoScript. It also does what it says, not allowing website java scripts to run, except the domains I allow.  It makes some sites more safe to browse, but I admit that I have it turned off unless I suspect that a site I'm going to is going to be a little kooky.

I also have the download helper to view status bar download progress.  Most of the add ons you find people use will be ones that complement their way of experiencing the internet.

You'll find add-ons that make sense to you too, that maybe other folks wouldn't need. There are thousands of them though... something for everybody!

  6. I use the following:

    IE Tab

-allows you to switch to an Internet Explorer shell for pages that don't work well with Firefox (there are very few like this)

    Adblocker

-while Firefox blocks popups and ads, this extension is very helpful in taking care of the rest.

    Foxmarks

-stores and synchronizes your bookmarks on a server so that you can retreive them if they're ever lost, pull them up via the web if you're away from your home computer, or allows you to easily transfer your bookmarks to another PC

    Download Statusbar

-takes the download window and puts it into the statusbar so that you don't have a separate little window popping up for your downloads.
