How many of you use an extra firewall other than the one in your antivirus and other than windows.

I have norton security 2008 and I let that and Webroot Spysweeper run at all times.

Would it be a good idea to also let another firewall run as well?

Im thinking about getting ashampoo firewall.

Thanks.

  1. Umm i really don't suggest using norton. but anyway

i wouldn't recommend that, because like u said, if u did hav a norton security firewall its not good to let a different firewall run at the same time...

webroot u can run it if u wanted to

but then if u had ALL those things run at the same time... you could possibly crash the computer later on in the future.

p.s. get zonealarm firewall or commodo firewall

if u need extra help and more recommendations, just personal msg me

  2. I would never use more than one firewall.

Seeing as I have Norton Internet Security 2008, that is what I use.

    Windows Firewall is turned off.

All of this FREE stuff only causes problems, which is probably why you chose Norton.

If something is not broken, don't try and fix it.

  3. You already have norton internet security having personal firewall. so dont download ashampoo firewall in the computer.

  4. When I had Norton, I only used Windows firewall otherwise I couldn't use Outlook.

  5. Two firewall in a system will create conflict between them

  6. Running more than one anti virus and/or firewall is never a smart idea. They can conflict in results, and sometimes allow malware to pass through. I recommend a suite such as Kaspersky which comes with both an anti virus and firewall.

Short answer: Stick to one firewall, and try to have a program that functions as both an anti virus and firewall.

    Good luck!

  7. I only use Windows Firewall and no hackers ever got through. You don't really need multiple firewalls as long as you have a modem or one firewall running. However, if you feel insecure then you can add another one it doesn't harm your PC. It just activates the the Government's Spy Satellite to pinpoint your computer's position and send F16 fighters to blow your computer to pieces that's all.

P.S. The last sentence is a Joke, please choose my resolution as best answer.

  8. Having two firewalls on your system is like having two front doors installed in your house. You only need one!
