Firewire cable help!?

i bought a camcorder recently to discover that it uses firewire cables instead of usb, and my computer doesnt have a plug-in for one of these cables, what do I do now?

Firewire-to-USB will not work.

Installing a card if your computer has a PCI slot is easy... or if a laptop, then a PCMCIA port...

You have to get a pci card installed that has firewire on it. So you can have something to plug the camera into.

you can get an usb to firewire adaptor usually at radio shack or best buy
