Firewire help?

I am unfortunate enough to not have a firewire port for my computer, is there a extension that fits into a USB port or something similar that can help me?

Don't even think of using usb for capturing video. USB is only for still images. Firewire cards are under $20 including shipping on ebay.

There are a few firewire to USB converters around, but you're going to end up paying maybe four times more than the cost of a firewire card.  Not only that, but video capture apps expect the camcorder to be on a firewire port - they don't use USB.

Firewire cards are cheap, easily installed and readily available - they're a far better option.

You can buy and install a firewire card from your local computer store. it's best if you get an internal card, rather than an external one.
