I own an Olympus FE-170 digital camera and would like to photograph fireworks show.

Do I just need to set the camera on the " fireworks " icon and use my tripod also ?

Do I need to make other adjustments ?

  1. Just these. You will only need a little practice to achieve great results (you must press the shutter button just before the firework explodes). It is very easy until you find it. I shoot with an mju 1020 and the results are amazing. You don't have to worry, you will do great.

  2. A successful way to shoot fireworks would be to get a tripod set that camera on bulb and take some time exposures using a remote shutter release. 5 to 10 secs give or take. Use a wide angle lens and focused to infinity with the lowest ISO the camera allows and start at F8.
