First Bid favourite for Trafford Centre Fashion Flutter Handicap
First Bid is tipped to win the Trafford Centre Fashion Flutter Handicap at Chester in England on Friday, June 29, 2012. The winner of the class-5 event will grab a cash prize of £4,043.
There will be 17 runners seen in action over 7 furlongs and 122 yards and the race is scheduled to start at 18:50 GMT. Furthermore, the going will be good, which will suit First Bid today.
The three-year-old colt does not have an ideal winning percentage, but he has the ability to fight at the front with consistency. He has participated in a total of 18 races, prevailing in just three of them. However, he finished runner up once whereas secured
the third spot on nine times, which clearly shows how competitive he can be.
Since making his debut in 2011, the James Given’s trainee has dropped out of the top three only on five occasions. He brought up his maiden victory very early in his career, winning the Agriplantsolutions.co.uk Selling Stakes at Yarmouth in May last year.
However, Kyllachy’s son had to wait for his second win for quite some time. After a dozen more races, he finally got a chance to break the shackles in the Connie Gleeson Birthday Selling Stakes at Wolverhampton in May this year. Despite not being rated as
the favourite to win, he fought his way to the top comfortably.
Things started working out well for First Bid, as he went onto win another race afterwards. He was once again not given the best odds by the bookies, but proved them wrong with his excellent speed. This was his second consecutive victory, but he failed to
complete a hat-trick.
The favourite runner finished fifth in his most recent outing, which will not help him get the attention of the punters. However, his jockey, Richard Mullen, will definitely attract a few bets in his favour, as he has a decent record.
On the other hand, the bookmakers have given the best odds to Double Cee, who does not have an impressive record, but will be carrying an ideal weight. Therefore, he cannot be ruled out completely. He has entered eight events until now, but won just one
of them.
