First Birthday Theme?

Question

I'm undecided as to what to have as the theme for my son's first birthday. It's between:

My husband (who is a baseball NUT!) obviously prefers the baseball theme :o)

For the cakes, I would do either a monkey cake with a banana shaped smash cake or a baseball and bat cake with a baseball shaped smash cake.

Just curious as to what your opinions between the two are. Thanks ladies!

Ok, so we must have the same mind set or something.  

My son's first birthday is on Halloween and he's going to dress up as a monkey (I found the cutest costume, lol).  So anyways, the mod monkey was exactly what I was going to do for his theme!  Even down to the cakes.  So weird.  But obviously I think it's a great idea, LOL

first birthday parties are just for the parent, it isn't like your child is going to remember any of it so do whatever you want. i am just going to have a couple of family members over and do i small home made cake. i'll wait to go way overboard until he or she will actually remember the party.

Well since my bff is a baseball nut as well I say do the lil slugger theme!!  My son is 4 months old and for his first birthday I am going to do a book party and have everyone bring their favorite childhood book.  Since he is going to get so many toys through his life anyway I figure this will be a good way to get lots of books! I love reading and can't wait to get to read to him =)  Good luck!

Even though the monkeys are soo cute, I would do the baseball theme...my fiance is a baseball nut too! Save the monkeys where he is old enough to fully understand

i like em both. lol. i would do lil slugger if me and my ex were together but just me and the baby mod monkey. but you should do the lil slugger itll make your husband feel good and you like it too. first birthdays are always fun.

Go with baseball. It seems only one person cares, why not make them happy.

They are both cute, but I would go with the baseball theme, since your husband is a baseball fan. You can give out baseballs as favors :)

my husband is also a baseball nut, for my son's 1st b-day i had no choice but to go with the slugger theme it worked out great and there a lot of favors and goodies you can get for that theme, if you that route it'll be okay.
