Question:

First Class Stamps- Price Changes?

I have some First Class USA stamps from the year 2006, depicting the Statue of Liberty in front of a flag. Can I still use these stamps without adding any additional postage, for mailing letters and such?

I know USPS issued the Forever Stamp that can be used despite subsequent price changes, but this doesn't apply to older first-class stamps, does it?

  1. That stamp is worth 39 cents, so you'll need to add a 3 cent stamp (or a one cent and a two cent stamp) for a first-class letter delivery.

  2. 42 cents now ...so when in doubt add a few more cents to make sure your letter gets mailed ;)))

  3. You will have to add more postage.  A stamp now costs 42 cents.
