Question:

First Contacts [UK]?

I'm fourteen and would like contacts.

Please don't say i'm too young as it was recommended by my Optician.

I've heard a try-out is £20.

And will be having the ones that you clean and not the daily ones.

I was wondering how much those ones were.

And what else I will need to do at the ''try-out''

Thanks

  1. You won't need to do anything.  My 'try-out' was £60, so that's either a good price or a rubbish optician.

btw you're not too young but I wouldn't suggest you wear them full time just yet.  The younger you start wearing contacts, the more chance there is of starving your eyes of oxygen and you not being able to wear them when you're older.

  2. Wow, that's ridiculously cheap! THe cheapest I';ve ever heard was £22 for 30 pairs of lenses from Specsavers.

I get the daily disposables from D&A, which cost £40 for 30.

I'd say if you wanted any advice on what to do with your lenses and training as to how to put them in, take them out, keep them clean etc etc, you ought to speak to your optician.

    But glasses are good too.

How come you don't wear them, out of curiosity?

  3. Some opticians give free contact lens consultations(fitting for contacts). and trials. Try specsavers, it may only be a free trial if you buy regularly after that, but you can ask before you book an appointment. The optician will recommend the most suitable ones for you.

The opticians will show you how to put then lenses in and take them out and the cleaning routine.

Depends what brand of lenses you have.

    Hoppe Ive helped.
