Ok, I've asked this question before and didn't really get many responses so I'm trying again. I'm a teacher at a private Christian school. I teach a combination class that is made up of 9 students that range from 1st to 3rd grade. I REALLY need a simple art project for the first day of school that all the kids can do. The majority of the students are in 1st grade(six 1st graders to be exact). I have pipe cleaners, construction paper, glitter glue, the assorted colored pom-poms. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO WITH THEM! Someone please help me. This is my fifth year teaching and I go through this every year b/c I want to do something extra fun on the first day. If you have any ideas or websites with projects, preferably using the tools I've listed, then PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE let me know. School starts Monday and I don't just want to let them color......that's so generic....LOL Thanx All!

  1. You can give them all the materials and tell them to use their imagination and create something. Anything they want to with the stuff you give them to use. Or you can make them make their own name tag thing where they write their, their hobby, and other stuff about them and decorate it. After that, you can stick them on the wall outside your classroom so people who pass by can see it. But if you do that, you might want to make lines where they can write and don't expect too much because they're just 1st graders.

Hope this helped. Please vote for me.

  2. do a activity that my mom came up with called when i grow up which you get magazines and do a collage and pick out stuff like what car they want, clothes, job, houses anything its a great idea!

  3. ok well you can make them make a model of someone or something that they like, with all the things that you just listed, using their imaginations. i would really like that. so i think that would be very fun. and after they finish they can show everyone what they made so they can express them selves for the first day .

    i hope this helps. =D

  4. have them do a project to spell their names out and once they're done then they can all show each other their projects and learn each others names
