I do agree with Tara on 7 up~~that was one of my favorite games to play in class! You could do things like BINGO, have spell downs (another one of MY favorites from 1st grade!). I'm drawing a blank on things I thought were fun~~If this question is still open tomorrow when I'm on, I'll ask my daughter what her favorites are since she just got out of first grade.

I used to play a phonics I Spy with SK's.  'I spy with my little eye something that starts with "t"  (Make the sound for "t' don't say the letter name).  You could also do something that rhymes with ...   These are good prereading skills.  Some will find it easy but fun and some will really need the phonics practice.
