ok so i'm 14 1/2 and still don't have a period.

I am not flat or anything (let's put it that way) and i have had discharge for a WHILE now. and blood when i pee (but only like, two times).

I've had a generally sick feeling for about a month and it really sucks.

My doc has not been much help, she seems to think that 14 is a little late to be getting it, and thinks my sick feeling is something else.

I'm skinny, but weigh about 103 lbs. and am pretty tall.

what's wrong with me?! i dont want to feel sick any more! i just want my period before school starts.

  1. You shouldn't be peeing blood. Perhaps this was your period and you just weren't aware of it? If you have been having other symptoms of a urinary tract infection ie; bladder pain, burning when urinating, increased frequency- then you really need to get that evaluated and treated. As for being a little late starting- I have 2 sisters, we all had different starting ages with a 2 year variable. One didn't start until she was 15 1/2. i think there are many variables, and being so thin may be one of them. It's important to be sure there isn't another reason for the blood in your urine and once you get cleared for that, be patient .

  2. ok. i just got my period this year and im 13. thats weird how ur getting blood coming out of ur urine. thats not where its supossed to come out. i think that feeling is your stomach turning, you know when you afraid. well hang in there. if you have any more questions im here to answer my email is uniquerocker300@yahoo.com

maybe ur too skinny to get it ? try taking vitamins a multi one for women to amke sure u got all the nutrients ur body needs too

  4. alot of the times when your underweight you dont get your period. you dont have enough fat to contribute to your overies or something? haha i just saw something about it when they were talking about those skinny gymnists not getting theirs.

and that thing when you pee, its totally normal. your just spotting, witch im pretty sure is a good sign youd be starting any time now.

but im no doctor, although its really good that yours has been so helpfull. seriosuly, any little question about your body, ask her. it doesnt matter if you feel akward, its their job to tell you, but it sucks when you walk away from that office scared and regreting not asking. haha belive me, it took me a while to get comfortable with mine.

try eating a bit more, and more sleep never heart anyone. it might just be what you need. i have no doubt you'd start any day now. haha not to be weird, but i had heaaavy discharge for about 6 months before i started. its totally normal, i felt the same way.

  5. If your family doctor is saying that then request to see a GYN. A GYN helps women with the same problems. If it is a GYN telling you this then request to see another or be referred to a specialist. It sounds like a problem you need to be seen for and possibly have some blood tests run.

  6. Oh god, u should be happy that you havent started it yet....its sooo annoying to worry about bleeding thru your clothes once a month and to walk around with a pad on....its up to mothernature when its gonna kick in so for now just sit back and relax and enjoy your period free life!

  7. Ask your mom to take you to a gynecologist, they could probably be able to help you out better than your family doctor.

  8. my suggestion: don't stress over this! you can't force your period to come , so just caaaaalm down. =)

and as for the sick feeling... if it keeps going, maybe you should go to the doctor again.

    good luck!

  9. Your doctor is an idiot (no offense) some people don't get their period until they are 18! You can try peppermint oil on your stomach (it's really warm, just warning you) or peppermint tea.

  10. Ummm first of all you need to gain some wight cause it might be due to malnutrition and there shouldn't be any blood when you pee, so that has nothing to do with your period...and you don't feel sick before you get your period.. you need to see a doctor again that can tell you what is really wrong...... sorry sweety.   also some girls don't get their period until they are 16 and don't wish for it to happen, enjoy it while you don't have it.

  11. I am 13 and got my period just last month. I really wanted to get for some really strange reason even though everybody told me that it sucks. 14 is a totally normal age not to have your period. You shouldn't worry if you haven't gotten your period yet. The one thing that you should be worried about is if your breast haven't grown yet. If you feel like you should have gotten your period by now that see a gynecologist or a different doctor than the one you have. You may be malnourished and that is stunting your puberty. Just see a doctor and talk to your mother.

  12. Girls get their periods at different ages, between 10-16 usually. Your body sounds like it is preparing itself for your period. It should be starting soon.

If your mom got it later, that would also mean you have a good chance to get it later too.

Why on earth do you want to get it before school starts?

Be sure to wear protection if you feel like your are getting your period.

  13. It sounds to me like you will probably be getting your period pretty soon. Just hang in there and don't worry, you'll get it sooner or later. Maybe the sick feeling does have something to do with it but idk...

As far as how you are very skinny, that might have something to do with it. Sometimes if you're very athletic you can get it later also. I hope this helps. Take care.

  14. Well at times if you are really athletic it takes a while. I did not get mine til I was almost 14 because of being so athletic and just being me. I had ramps and discharge for almost 3 years before it started. I would not worry about it. If you have talked to your mom or aunt or family they can give you advice on how to handle cramps. Ask a parent or guardian before this, but if it's okay and your stomach pains are really bad you could take some Tylenol.
