First Period?

Hi, I am currently on my first period, and today is the eighth day.

The first and eighth day (today) were/are light, the second, fifth and sixth days was medium and the third, fourth and seventh were quite heavy.

Is that normal for your first period?

I'm also 13 and of a slim build if that means anything, lol.

Thanks!

  3. VERY normal! Welcome to womanhood my dear! From experience I can say that they will become more regular and possibly shorter (although some women go on birth control to help this) Also, it is very normal to have varied "flow" during your cycle. They even make multipaks of tampons and pads to take this into account...Get used to having good ole Aunt Flo around. She will be your unwanted monthly guest for many years to come!

  4. Well, yes its quite normal. Get tylonol lots of it. Try not to move around so much. As time progresses your periods witll be lighter.

  5. ITs normal because you're starting out. Since everyone's throwing out suggestions. I wanted to throw out two that people tend to not think of - one is, make sure you're drinking plenty of water. I can't remember why it helps. two, when you exercise, it helps the periods to be less heavy, and it helps with the cramps.

As for medication - I'd try each and see what you feel comfortable with. My sister likes Tylenol and a girl I know likes pamprin - neither do anything for me. I liked ibuprophin best, when I could use it. Or advil. Both worked like a charm for me.

  6. this is normal

  7. Perfectly normal! :)
