First Prenatal office visit.?

Question

I have my first prenatal office visit with my doctor, I will be eight weeks. I was wondering what to expect? What tests will they run?

Depending on your doctor you might get an ultrasound but for sure they will do blood work check your blood pressure and urine test CONGRATS!

They will interview you to get your extensive family medical history.

Council you on what you should be doing and how their office will be handeling your visits etc.

Will either do your blood work there or tell you to make an apt with the Lab.

Urine test (you'll have one with evey single visit.)

You will get a pap and regular pelvic exam.

Possibly a sonogram (mostlikely an internal sono, if they do one at all.)

They ask about family history of disease former pregnancies if any ,a pap smear,a breast exam.They'll give you prenatal vitimans.They sent me to a lab to do blood work.Blood presure,and urine sample and I think that covers about everything that happened when i went

They'll probably take a lot of blood, might do a pap smear, and you'll probably get an ultrasound. Not sure if every office is the same. Good luck!

Congrats on the little bun in the oven! On my first visit, I got a pelvic exam and a vaginal ultrasound to make sure that I was truly pregnant. Make sure they prescribe you some prenatal vitamins. They will help you keep some of your energy.

I had my first a few weeks ago at 8 weeks and they drew blood and took a urine sample.  I had just had a pap a few months before I became pregnant so they did not do that.  The doctor did feel my uterus to check the size, though, but it only took a second.  They gave me some pamphlets and some prenatal vitamin samples and that was it!

they are going to do a pap smear, check for stds, gonorrhea. i don't think they would do a blood test just yet. but get ready for needles being stuck in you every other time you go in! they are probabky going to go over things you should avoid, your diet abd stuff like that.  good luck!

for me they tested my urine and sent me to the hospital for an std test and blood type and hcg level and did a pap and got a family history and gave me information about pregnancy. :) have fun!
