Question:

First Response Gold Digital HPT...?

Ok, so I took First Response HPT on Sunday morning with FMU and got a clear positive, the line was fainter than the control line but clearly defined. I do feel pregnant, I just don't think I will believe it until the doctor confirms it!! So this am with FMU I took an Equate HPT, the + or - one, and I got the faintest shadow of a +. So my husband, bought me the First Response Gold Digital HPT which I took a few hours later, after drinking water etc, and I received a -no. There were two lines on the test strip when I took it apart, but I know peeonastick.com says that's normal for positive and negative tests. I was just wondering if this is normal? Did I get the negative on the digital because my HCg levels are still low and it wasn't FMU? Any reassurance would be very much appreciated!

Anxiously awaiting Baby #1!!

  1. The digital tests aren't as sensitive as the regular line tests. And since you had drank water etc then your urine was diluted. So diluted urine combined with a less sensitive test means a very possible false negative.

Since hcg levels double every 2-3 days try again with FMU in a day or two. Good luck and baby dust!!

  2. The drinking of water probably made the last test you took inaccurate.  If you've had a few faint positives already, that means you are indeed pregnant.

Go make an appointment with your doctor and confirm it ASAP.

    Congratulations!
