First Service On 2008 GSXR-600

Question

I was hoping to find someone that could point me in the right direction for how to do my own service on my Gixxer. I don't feel like paying a dealer 200 hundred dollars for something I can probably do myself. Does anybody know where to find the info on what to do? The owners manual tells me what to do, but doesn't tell me how to do it.

Did you not get your first service free when you bought the bike? I also have a 2008 GSXR-600 (White/Silver) and I got my first service free but thats from the UK so I wouldn't know from America area.

Either way if I wasn't sure on how to do something, I would much rather pay a qualified mechanic to do it.

yes doing it your self will save you big..ask the dealer what they will do and then do it your self.. oil, filter,tran oil plugs tighen nuts and bolts and check belt or or something like that.. learn your bike and what to do will keep you from walking one day.... every ride is a bit differant but really most are the same when it comes to up keep,, if your not sure.. why not ask a rider you ride with they can point you out a few things im sure

Your owners manual should tell you what to do to your bike and when.  Read through that and see if it tells you what should be done for the first service.
