Have been asked to be a best man for my mate who is getting married, I’m only 19 so this is my first time so I’m really honoured to be honest i have a bunch of questions wondered if anyone could help me with

for the stag do i was thinking paintballing during the day and then like a pub crawl in the evening, are strippers a good idea, I mean i know it will be great I just don’t wanna p**s of his soon to be wife, been talking about it with friends and we also thought about stripping him down and locking him to lamppost etc any thoughts as the best man should I do this. also is the best man required to pay for the whole night etc?

Other than the stag do, getting the groom to the wedding, the speech, looking after the rings do I have any other duties.

Thanks

  1. the stag party sounds like fun... and strippers are quiet inappropriate... if you are friends with the bride too and you know she wouldn't like it and your friend (the groom) would be uncomfortable with the stripper around then i would leave that out definitely...

my husbands best man (and his groomsmen) chained him to a bowling ball and then took him out on the town.. lol... even though those guys know that I am nowhere near the ball and chain type of wife...

the groomsmen should help you pay for party though...

also be ready for the groom to borrow any last minute moneys in case something (like a rental of some type) should go awry...

  2. Making sure the groom gets home safely from the stag. As far as the strippers?? that can be a very big problem for the bride, you might want to rethink that one.

  3. i think your plans sound great i think you will all have a great time i know stippers my raise some issue but not all girlfriend/wives have a problem with it how was she while they were dating? was she cool with him looking at other girls going to clubs? if your not uncomfortable just take her aside and ask her and omg i love the lamp post thing but um make sure hes not totally naked if it might become a legal issue (being naked or revealing in public or if you've been drinking it could lead to public drunkenness ect that wouldn't be good LOL) I'm sure that the groomsmen would help pay everyone i imagine will be offering to buy one for the groom just make sure you all have a safe ride around town and a designated driver home the rest is basic he may or may not ask you about certain color tuxes or other wedding related issues if theres decorating to do lend a hand same with clean up after the wedding write or read some sort of speech you may hold on to the rings depending if they have the ring bearer carry actually rings or fake one...i think its wonderful you are so nervous and excited to be part of your friends wedding that tells me you will be a great best man you truly care for your friend and the responsibility that was placed on you that is a sure sign that he made the right choice and that you will indeed step up to the plate and provide emotional and physical  support to your friend on his special day

  4. Strippers are not a good idea at the bachelor party. The idea is to celebrate, maybe embarrass him somewhat, not to make him really uncomfortable. Don't do anything he can't look back at later and realise was a lot of fun.
