  1. Triple F---

  2. I would give you a C+ as your thin at WR and RB

  3. The good:  you have the top QB in the league, who although he will not have the same success as last year will still be a top 3 fantasy QB.  Gates may be slowed the first couple of games, but he'll still end up at least in the top 5 amongst TEs.  Mason Crosby led all K in scoring last year.  No kicker does that year after year, but he should still be consistently productive.  With a healthy Merriman I would not hesitate to rank San Diego's D/ST number one.  Even with Merriman injured and possibly slowed or (worst case) ending up out for the season, they should be top 5.  McFadden has tremendous potential and Oakland runs the ball well.

The bad:  Your WRs are not good.  Holt is good, but no longer a top tier WR.  Curtis and Engram are steady producers- when they're healthy.  Unfortunately both are going to miss some games.  McFadden has potential to be great but if he does not do well your RBs are going to hurt you.  James is past his prime and can't be expected to put up big numbers even as the number one back.  If APeterson gets hurt, then Taylor moves way up, and even with Peterson healthy Taylor figures to have a few good games.  The down side is that as long as Peterson is healthy you'll likely only see a couple of good fantasy games from Taylor.

Of course, a lot depends on the size of your league.  If it is 10 teams or fewer, I'd say this team will struggle unless every break goes your way.  If it's 12-14 teams, I'd say you will be competative but will have to manage your team carefully all year.  16 teams or more and you should be in the playoffs.  No matter what the size of the league, make sure you know the scoring rules and the rules for adding and dropping players.  Watch the free agents closely and you can get some very valuable players (I added Crosby and Kurt Warner midseason last year, and they were both terrific).  In my league you can post an add/drop on the message board at any time, so if you see a player having a breakout game or an injury occurs, you can get online and post the move immediatly, although the change to your roster won't happen until that week's games are over.

Grade: D if your league is 10 teams or less.

B- if your league is 12- 14 teams.

A- if your league is 16 teams or more.

  4. D
