 While buying a house things which should always be kept in mind are:

First and foremost thing is the kitchen in the house. Kitchen should be neat and clean. There should be a proper air flow system along with proper sun light as well. 

After kitchen comes the bath rooms they should also be neat and clean and same like kitchen proper air flow system along with sun light as well. Bath room fittings should be of proper standard and class. 

Rooms should have enough space to two bed or a double bed with ease. the ceilings should properly be examined as well. 

The water supply system should be a proper one. The location of house should be at-least two streets away from the market just to avoid noise. 

There should be a proper lawn out side the house and there need to be proper space to accommodate a standard sized car and few space still there to walk along. 

All the material used in house making should be properly examined for the quality of the products.

The roof of the house should be a proper one and stair case should also be separate. At times extra things can be dumped along the stair case area.

At the back side of the house there should also be enough space of at least 20 feet wide so that the laundry system of the house can be utilized over there. Same way the side wise walls of the house should also not be attached with any other house. This way the location of windows will always be at perfect place.

Keeping all the things mentioned above you can easily chose a house that will be a proper house for living a life in.
