In general I just want traveling advice. I'm going 19th-28th (over thanksgiving)

And here is what I'm wondering.

I have 1 Stop to change plans in Houston, TX (

Connection Time: 1hr 27mins

I've never been on a plane, I know the baggage rules and regulations. I just wanna know if it's really hard to find the platform I board on, should I wander off outside of the airport, and if I do what measures do I take to arrive back in time? I don't plan to wander off in TX so to speak.

I have another flight, coming back home, where I literally stop in Chicago for 2 and a half hours connection time. I figure if I find the platform maybe I should go wandering around Chicago for a bit? What do you guys suggest? Anything you recommend?

  1. At both airports in Houston, and Chicago O'Hare are not close enough to the city for you to do any site seeing.  One hour and 27 minutes is just enough time for you to find your next departure gate, perhaps get a snack, but you should not wander too far from your gate.  Most airports are easy to find your way in and there is always someone to help you find it. You cannot depend on the times the airline gives you.  A late departure will mean that much less time you'll have to make your connection. When flying these days your best bet is find your gate and wait.  You can easily loose your seat if you're not right there on time and waiting for the first call.
