  1. The first Presidents were:

John Hanson (1781), Elias Boudinot (1783), Thomas Mifflin (1784), Richard Henry Lee (1785), Nathan Gorman (1786), Arthur St. Clair (1787), and Cyrus Griffin (1788)

George Washington was definitely not the first President of the United States. He was the first President of the United States under the Constitution we follow today. And the first seven Presidents are forgotten in history.

  2. it's george washington.

Your friend must be another misinformed Obama voter.

  3. You know it was Washington.  I think you better find yourself some different friends.

  4. Some people make the argument that the president of the First Continental Congress (don't have the name) was actually the first.  That may be what they're trying to get at.

George Washington was the first President of the United States of America.

  5. I agree with you. By definition, Washington was the first president Constitutionally. I have never heard of antone who had control of all the colonies.
