  1. Usually, the first two years of engineering is pretty much general engineering, drafting, math, chemistry, physics, etc. brush up on these subjects in addition to the computer software.

Wishing you the best in school!

  2. Review Ohm's law.

    Practise some calculus.

Try writing some programs in C++.

Look up your course outlines online, and then buy the books second hand via ebay, and read them through in your favourite comfortable chair with a favourite beverage / snack at hand.

If you purchase "international versions" you'll get the same content in softcover, with cheaper (newsprint) paper, at 20% of the bookstore price.

  3. you can read the history of electricity, and start understanding basic concepts of electricity.

  4. I wouldn't worry too much about Excel, but the things I'd brush up on are math and physics.  I'd also brush up on my programming skills.  The most important software I'd consider checking out is Matlab.  Other than that, EE is tough and demanding so you'll be spending quite a bit of time in class and studying so the best piece of advice I can give you and anyone could give you is to have fun.  Your college years pass by very quickly and if you spend all of your time working and have no fun, you'll probably regret it in the long run.  To that end, don't spend too much time studying during the summer.  Enjoy the rest of it since your life is about to get a lot busier.
