First anniversary gift for my husband?

My husband and I will be married one year on September 15th, and I am having a hard time thinking of what to get him. He is very outdoorsy, and he is a diehard hunter. I kind of want to get him something sentimental, but something he would really enjoy. I don't have a whole lot of money to spend. Any suggestions?

My husband and I don't get anniversary gifts for each other... So I really have no idea. I would just cook him a really nice dinner with his favorite dessert on top of it. Sometimes the most sentimental thing you can give is a good memory of the occasion.

I know that this may sound corny.  How about a compass (for when he hunts) maybe you can get it inscribed "I will be lost without you! Happy 1st Anniversary"  It's something that is sentimental, something he can use while he is hunting and not that expensive.  Also cooking a nice meal and wearing something s**y can top it all off!  Good Luck and Happy Anniversary!

Traditionally, the 1st wedding anniversary is the paper anniversary, though.  Try being creative and doing something related to paper.

At our wedding, my husband serenaded me in front of all our guests at the reception with Frank Sinatra's "The Way You Look Tonight."  For our first anniversary, I purchased the sheet music to the song and had it framed.  It's still hung in our bedroom. :)

Another cute idea would be to purchase a journal.  Once every year on your anniversay, make an entry into the journal describing what gifts you got for one another and how you celebrated. :)
