  1. Don't twist the throttle and you won't move so fast.

After you get going, slowly roll the throttle to increase speed.

If it starts moving to fast to your liking, roll the throttle back.

Just because the power is there, doesn't mean you have to use it.

  2. Actually I think it is a good bike to start out with, But I would ride it around for a while and get used to it before having fun with it, plus you want to let the motor break in for at least the first 300 miles.

  3. just use throttle control, you are in control of how much throttle you are giving it at any time. you determine how fast, or slow it is going. practice, pratice, pratice. and a rider course wouldnt be bad to take either.

  4. Kind of a beast for a first bike, but not the worst.

Dont be an idiot then you should be ok. A 600 wont pickup really well until the revs are up. Thats why you DONT want a 1000+ right now. At least the 600 will be more docile in the lower rpm. Dont s***w up your clutch like that, just dont mash on the throttle in the neighborhood. Stop staring at your tach in the neighborhood too.

  5. please please please videotape yourself when you gonna be learning...

i wanna see your crash on youtube :)

    good luck

  6. FOR F*CK'S SAKE, TAKE AN MSF COURSE BEFORE YOU KILL YOURSELF!!!!!  AND WEAR FULL GEAR!!!

So what you're saying is that even a "small" 600cc bike is TOO MUCH FOR A NEWBIE?  Gosh, who knew?

Your big problem is that the human brain cannot process information that fast without tons of practice.  With experience, you will be able to think properly at speed instead of wearing out your clutch.

Did I mention taking an MSF course?  They'll teach you the basics, like a motorcycle MUST lean to turn; no lean, no turn, and NO braking in the corners like in a car.

At the very least, buy a book titled Proficient Motorcycling by David L. Hough.  It may save your little squidly life someday.

As it is, I seriously doubt you could handle an emergency without panicking and crashing horribly.  Is that what you want?

  7. Take the motorcycle safety foundation course now, before you ride your gixxer any more.

  8. www.msf-usa.org

    take the class and learn!

anyways I work for the MSF foundation-key tips are

look 3 seconds ahead of you. (when you go into a corner, your helmet shouldnt be straight, it should be sideways)

    S.E.E.- SEARCH, EVALUATE, then EXECUTE.

Don't cover the front brake lever.

When leaning the bike over to do slow speed manuevers counter weight by sliding your rear the opposite direction on the seat. Don't look at the ground, don't look at the yellow lines, look to where you wan't to go

Wear full gear, helmet boots gloves jacket pants-www.kneedraggers.com

When you get off the bike ALWAYS turn the handlebars full to the left, this leans the bike more so it wont fall over.

Put your helmet on the ground, not on the bike, in case a wind or something knocks it off.
