  1. Well I have a rehoming fee of $30 dollars for my Cockatiels so you should be able to find one for that price or a little more unless your going to a pet store where they cost about $100 and as for a cage look up on Craigslist.com you might find a cheap one there but at a pet store for a size for a cockatiel your paying about $60 than you have the food that will be about $6-$10 than you need to get toys that will be about $20 so a total of about $160.00 you just need to shop around and look in the newspapers and don't forget craigslist.com

  2. well first of all it's not hard to convince your parents.. i have cocktails and they have goood personalities..their not messy at all and specially if your buying a baby it'll be easier for you to tame it. as well ummm cage should be medium size...not too big because he'll feel lost ...just big enough to move around and spread his wings. as well... you should need money for food... vitamins ( because it's a baby and he'll need some to keep healthy) needs some toys becuase you don't want it to get bored. umm if you go to the pet store they can help you pick out some stuff he'll might need so you're might as well save around 200$ to get everything...hope it helps =) tell your parents their not messy and that you'll take care of it..and as well like... they talk =)

  3. I've been breeding birds and the best one is pigeon. They are around 3 dollars to 5 or 6 dollars.Cheaper than a cockatiel.

  4. you are getting ripped off. cockatiels DO NOT cost that much. and get a cage with not that many crevices. Also you should get about 200 dollars rounded up. and you need to google what you need.

  5. well if u r here in south carolinia  u can go 2 pet smart n get 1 4 75$$  and then if u have a little card of pet smart its just like a bi-lo card u get a discount so with the bird n food it will b a total of 95$$

but then the cage has t be at least 15by19inches big

but then the cage its not really cheap it around 120 or 130$$

and then u need 2 buy treats n toys with it and then the total 260$$ but thats a good price cause if u go 2 other stores u will waste around 420$$!!!!LOL

and also he bites a lot so the way i train mine is i uste 2 get a sock and get him because he will bite u but then u just try 2 rub his top haid or bottem and corner of his checks

trust me my bird now competes in contests and dose tricks

but now if u want more info

  6. Please make sure you have a mirror in the cage~this helps adapt the baby to being alone~ Perches in the cage  should be a different levels, to help build strong bones.  Start saving Black and white newspaper sections, keeping the cage clean is very important for good health~ Enjoy your new arrival !! (This is my 2 cents worth: your other  answerers are  also helpful~)

  7. The tiels are wonderful birds, I'm sure you'll be very happy with yours! Here's some info about them:

    http://www.avianweb.com/cockatielinfo.ht...

They are very playful, and should have a minimum cage size of 20" by 20". It should also have a play top.

Give your bird a good-quality cockatiel seed mix (not parrot mix). These are readily available at pet suppliers and supermarkets. Be aware though that most ready-mixed cockatiel seed contains far too many sunflower seeds and these are extremely fattening. For this reason I tend to make up my own mix for my cockatiels. I buy a 50/50 mix of budgie seed and plain canary seed and then add a few sunflower seeds. Do not buy the seed in bulk - you are best to purchase small fresh amounts.

Alternatively, you can offer your cockatiel a pelleted diet.

Your cockatiel's diet must be supplemented with fresh fruit and vegetables on a daily basis - refer to the fruit and vegetables question below.

'People' food is also good once and a while.

Good Luck! I hope I gave you ample info! ^_~
