Question:

First birthday party?

My daughter is turning one next month and I am planning on having a birthday party for her. My family is really big and we are having one party for all family so with everyone there is going to be about 40 people. A lot! My house is having some work done to it (finishing the basement) so it is a mess and i am in Michigan so weather is not something we can count on!

My question is, would it be silly to use a clubhouse for her birthday? My grandma has a nice one where she lives for really cheap. I feel like I am throwing this birthday bash for a 1 yr old and to have it someplace is weird. Did anyone else have to do this? I can't not invite people either. I just feel silly having a first birthday at a clubhouse!

Is it silly? I know she won't remember it, but she had a rought start and some of my family has only seen her once!

Tell me what you think!

  1. If that's the only place u can have it that will accommodate 40 people, y not?

  2. I don't think it's silly, especially since you won't be spending very much money on it.  A party for a one year old is really more for the family than for the baby anyway, and since you have such a big family, you'll need to have it at a big place.  So I say go for it, and have fun! :)

  3. no i think it would be a great idea it ain't weird i think its pretty kool

  4. a club house may be a little much.  It really depends how fancy the club house is.   Sometimes what my family does is use a family members house.  You could ask a brother or sister of yours or one of yuor husbands siblings and see If you may be able to use there house?

  5. I say go for it.  You will spend the day stressed if you have that many people in your house.

  6. A first birthday is really for the family, not the baby, so if it makes the family happy then go for it.

  7. It's not weird at all... you are being practical. I have a large family too (13 brothers and sisters + all the rest) so when I have my son's party next year, we'll probably be doing the same thing or something similar, cause my house isn't big enough to accommodate.
