  1. yeah, Toyotas are nice, except for being the second most recalled car company in the world.

I have had a lot of success with my two Pontiac Grand Prixs. You would have to make sure it has the 3.8L V6 because that is a remarkably reliable engine. Listed as one of the top engines of the 20th Century. It is not uncommon for Grand Prixs, Buick Regals, Centurys, Park Avenues, Impalas, Monte Carlos, Oldsmobile Intrigues to make it over 200,000 miles with regular maintainence and they'd still outrun Hondas and Toyotas. Unfortunately the transmissions are not the greatest, try to find out how the car was driven. If it was driven hard, stay away, highway driving is a lot easier on the transmission.

For a less expensive alternative any GM vehicle with a 3.1L V6 isn't bad, they just have had issues with bad intake manifold gaskets. Other than that they are tough, decently quick vehicles. Look into whether the intake manifold gasket has been replaced and look for coolant and oil leaks. That will tell you the condition of the gasket.

  2. Toyoata are just as good

  3. If you don't want a Honda, get a Toyota.

All the other car makers fall short of Honda and Toyota.
