First day at new school!?

Question

School starts in like 6 days!

I'm going into 7th grade and i just moved out of state.

We go into the cafeteria when we get to school and how do i ask to sit with someone?

and if you live in florida, what do you wear to school? well, on the first day. i was thinking jeans but i don't know what shirt. what color seems approachable? haha.

but anyways. just wear a casual shirt in a color you like with a pair of jeans...that ALWAYS works...lol

as for the cafeteria...during the day before lunch, try to say hi and make new friends and then scout for them at lunch. not all of them might be in the same lunch as you but its worth a try.

I just moved from Florida, to Georgia. My first day was Monday. My advice is wear a cute tee with jeans or bermudas, I was so overdressed. Where in Florida? I came from Palm Coast, Port St. Lucie bfore that and Miami before that. Now I live in Cumming, Ga. Well, I found that you have to smile, not the biggest smile, but at least a small one that makes you look nice. Don't hate-stare at people when they walk by, and if someone asks you a question, ask them one. Try to keep asking and keep responses long but not boring so the conversation keeps going, and you might end up with a friend. Don't follow them, but maybe greet them later on and have another chat. Don't look nervous!!!!!! It was so hard for me. But I forced myself to be talkative, like asking the girl sitting next to me "Would you like some gum?" Don't say cheesy jokes. Try to make yourself tall when you walk. If you see any kids walking around before school, look at how they dress. Don't overdress or underdress and maybe wear the same or a similar brand. You just ask like if they were your friends already.Jeans and a bright tee will work and you could just straighten your hair and bring a sweater just in case it rains.

Before lunch, try to just see who seems like a good group of people to be with, ask them, in akind, but not weak begging way. Yea jeans and maybe a tightish tee would work. maybe a bright color.

Wear lighter colour shirts, surveys suggest that lighter coloured tops are more approachable and come across friendlier.

As for asking how to sit next to someone, simply walk over and ask if anyone particular is sitting there, if not then sit there, if so then try somewhere else.

Often just voicing what you mean instead of masking your intentions is easier.

Cool, I'm going into 7th too, about 2 weeks till! Well, just be yourself, I nkow it sound lame, but it really is the truth. Sure, just sit by any nice person you see, I'm sure they would make a fine friend. I don't live in Florida, but, here, I'll give you an outfit! i say its relly hot in florida why not try maybe blue jean capris and a blue or pink shirt and wear you hair in a ponytail whith your bangs down and make sure to bring clips

Be confident with yourself and smile so that you'll seem friendly and approachable. Simply walk up to a table with empty space and ask if you can sit with them, if they say yes then go ahead and join them! If they say no, don't get discouraged- just walk up to a different table and ask =] As for what to wear, it depends on the weather. If it's cooler outside then jeans would be a good option yet if it's hot outside it would probably be best to wear a cute skirt or shorts (Hollister + Abercrombie & Fitch have plenty of options). If skirts and shorts are against your dress code, go for a pair of cute fitted capri's instead. As for what colour to wear, wear a colour that flatters your facial features, skin tone, hair colour and so on. Seeing as you mentioned you`re a brunette, I`d suggest olive green or turquoise! Wear a babydoll tank or a fitted graphic t-shirt or you can layer a couple of tanks, anything really. And as for how you should wear your hair, you should leave it down and straighten it or you could leave it wavy which would also look nice. I hope I've helped and good luck with your first day!

try just a plain t-shirt and keep your hair wavy, i think wavy hair is GORGEOUS. just look relaxed with maybe a delicate necklace or bracelet and flats. smile alot :D

Wear your jeans, and whatever shirt you want. Don't wear something to impress someone else. Wear what 'you' like and what 'impresses' you. The better you feel about yourself and how you look, people will pick up on that and go, "oh wow..she looks great!".

Since it's summer, I would put my hair up in a clip and let part of it hang. That would look really cute with your side bangs. :-)

Wear some accessories to go with your outfit and to accent your style. Kohl's has some really awesome clothes and reasonable prices too. I love that store.

OH, and how to ask if you can sit with someone? Well, look for a friendly face, and ask, "Hi, would you mind if I sat here with you?"  You'll do just fine. :-)

relax.....sit by yourself in the cafeteria....then when you start your classes meet some new people and sit with them at lunch....that way you dont end up being friends with people you dont want to hang out with
