  1. Same situation here. I took a couple of summer courses but that doesn't really count lol full time is where it's at. Anyway yeah like others have said, the teachers will hand out the syllabus. I'm not even gonna bring anything on my first day. I won't know anyone either, hopefully both of us meet good people along the way :)

  3. As for the first day of class, your not expected to know a whole lot.  If you want to learn how to properly study, then during the semester, read each chapter 3 times, learn how to properly study together.  That's the key to success, proper study habits.

  4. Don't worry, everyone else is in the same boat as you.  Most likely most of your classmates won't know each other either.

You should bring your textbook, you might not need to bring it ever again, but if you do need it you want to be prepared.  Just bring with you any required books, some notebooks, pens pencils, etc.

The first day is easy, usually the professor will just go over the syllabis and tell you what they expect from you.

  5. Yep, bring your book - might need it (always looks good to come prepared). Notebook and pens/pencils, too. Take some notes and pay attention. You'll learn more about how the professor works on the first day than anything else, from what I've seen. Follow instructions - you don't want to get off on the wrong foot. Professor-student friendships can help you later if you need that extra point for the A or something like that.

Don't worry about not knowing anyone. That's the case for most people...

    Good luck!

  6. Always bring your book. There's a good chance you won't need it, but wouldn't it be worse to be the only one unprepared? Take a notebook, pens and pencils and pay attention. Usually, nothing big happens on the first day, but first impressions are very important. If you don't think you can write down everything, bring a small tape recorder as well. It wouldn't hurt.

I bet you felt the same way your first day of high school, right? Not knowing anyone in your class. Worried about looking like a loser. Don't stress over that. You know why? The vast majority of everyone in that class is thinking the same thing you are. "What should I wear?" "What should I bring?" blah, blah. Stressing over it will make it more of a big deal than it needs to be. That's the difference between high school and college, you're an adult now, no need to worry over such simple matters. And don't worry about impressing anyone. You'll have all year to make friends. The first day, you should be focused on understanding the course and the syllabus.

  7. Awwww...Hops..*HUG*..Don't be scared, everything will be fine, you'll see..I myself never taken any buss. classes, since that is not my carrer choice, but I do know what to expect..If you have bought your book, take it with you,as many intructors,go over what you will be doing, mostly all of them give homework on the first day of scool,I know it sucks,lol..also take your binder to write down some important things your teacher might say....It's very rare, you will know someone in there, but that is why you get to know the people, whom are in your class,if you wish too..So if someday you miss a class or lecture meeting, then one of your class mates can let you know what you missed....So don't worry,I am sure you will love it,as I have with my classes, and learn so much...It's very normal for you to feel nervous,I was too, when I firstly went to college,I know it's a big change of scools, but you will like it..maybe even better than high school, you will see,you will have a good first day tomorrow...: )

  8. Take it one day at a time bud. Profs hand out the syllabus etc on the first day of class...informing you on what you will need for class each day...so don't bring all of that stuff....just a notebook. Good Luck.
