Im going into high school too! :]

I say just be confident and be yourself.

Don't try and act like someone you are not. Smile, you will look friendlier and more approachable.

Make an effort to talk to people if you want to make new friends.

Try to stay organized.

If you get lost, don't fret, it's the first day, teachers will understand.

Going to high school for the first time is kinda like being a small fish in a big pond..as some people state it.

Don't be afraid of the upperclass men. The rumors you may hear about them being mean to freshmen are not true.

They are only mean to you if you cause drama, gossip, think you too cool for others..etc..

Wear something you think you look good in. You will be totally confident and nothing will be able to bring you down.

So if you follow that you'll have a great first day! :]

hey well my first day at school was pritty nerve racking, i never new anyone so i just became friends with one person and then the rest of my freinds basically fell into place so my advise is just to find one person who has the same interests as you then people will want to be friend with both of you and so on therefore u end up with a pritty large amount of friends. well thars akk that happend with me.

Congratulations! It's gonna be really weird, I'm not gonna lie. But you will get used to it and make new friends and have fun. The way to make the best friends FOR YOU is by being yourself. You don't want to end up being super fake + annoying in the popular group or shy in the nerd group. Just don't change yourself to be in a certain group; it's fine if you are popular or shy. The right people will gravitate towards you if you act how you normally would.

Know your schedule. Don't be afraid to ask older looking people how to get to certain rooms if you don't know. I'd be honored to answer questions, but our freshman get all these orientations so they pretty much know where their classes are. Like the other poster said, the upperclassman GENERALLY aren't mean. There definitely are those jocks and some punks/emos who make it their life to put other people down. Just ignore them, seriously, they are STUPID. They have no sense of maturity.

The best advice I can give is act normal. Don't act like you're the hottest person there and that you own the place. Cause you really don't. You are fresh meat. Do, however, dress in your best outfit, do natural but flattering make-up and hair. Be confident, others can see it.

Be friendly dont panic and have confiedence. if u get bullied nip it in the bud quickly or they'll always bother u a lesson i learned the hard way. Just have a great time its the only year in high school thats stress free!
