Ok, so tomorrow is going to be my first day of high school, and I am panicking. Do you have any helpful tips of how to make the first day go by smoothly? Please try to be as detailed as possible. Any advice from what to bring to how to act is greatly appreciated. Also, if classes start at 7:20, what time should I get to school by? Thank you!

  1. try to get a map before the first day of school. know where the wings are [english wing, math hallway...ect.]

if you get the list of class rooms then map out where you are going :) so you'll know the best routes to take.

buy your basic school supplies beforehand [a binder, folder, notebook/paper,pens,pencils,backpack] before hand that way all you'll have to buy after the first day is the necessities for each class.

don't worry about being harassed by upperclassman on the first day. i was a freshman last year and nothing happened to me OR anyone i knew.

just remember: you were in middle school at one time with the juniors and sophmores (when you were in 6th grade!) and the seniors really keep to themselves. dont be nervous-highschool is a time to have fun and be with your friends!

  2. Don't freak out. That's the most important thing to remember. You'll probably be really nervous, but as soon as you actually get to your first class, it will be no big deal.

    Get to school by 7:00.

Bring a backpack with a notebook and a few pencils. That's all you'll need for probably the entire first week.

Be yourself. Make friends, because you probably won't see your old friends as much.

High school is really not as big a transition as you think it will be. You won't get much more homework than last year. You won't notice if it's harder than than last year, you'll be ready.

  3. Well, congratulations on starting high school! The biggest thing that you have to remember is that it won't be as scary as you think. Sure it's a new school, but not just to you. There will be a lot of other pople who are feeling the same way as you are. To make your first day go smoothly, try this:

    1. Bring only the basics to school on the first day so that you find out what you'll need. They will tell you. All you really need to have on the first day are a binder, pens, pencils, ruler, and paper. If you need anything else, they will tell you.

    2. Don't worry about being harassed by upperclassman on the first day. Last year I was starting high school like you are now, and nothing happened to me OR anyone i knew. The upperclassmen are generally very nice and they're willing to help you if you're lost and can't find a class. There's no reason to be scared.

    3. Talk to new people. Get to know the people who sit next to you in class or have a locker beside yours. Chances are you'll be talking to them or working with them in the future. Even if you just say hi, at least you'll start to know new people.

Also, in response to your question about when to get to school, I would tell you to get there between 6:55 and 7:00 so that you'll be ablt to find your locker and first class in time. After the first day, you'll know what time you should be there. Also, if you have time try and look for your other classes just so that you know where they are. Relax and you'll be fine on your first day! Good luck, and don't worry!

  4. i would get there at seven the latest.

just remember that every body is panicking as well!

just be really friendly and try to make some new friends

  5. well since the first day is always hectic and everyone's parents drive them to school you should try get to school around 7:00 (only on the first day... then you will find out what is a good time to arrive) and if you can, try to go with a friend so you won't be lonely when you get out of the bus/car. then you two can go meet up with some other friends, see what classes you have together, find out your homeroom...etc. try to make new friends on your first day (especially if you have a class where you don't know anyone), and don't be intimidated by the upperclassmen. after a few days it will start to feel normal to you. the hardest part of going to high school is the anticipation of it! once you get there it will be no big deal.

    good luck!

  6. Imma be a freshman but ill help out.

First day going by smoothly? HAHA ur nerves are gonna take over you but the best thing to do is strike up a conversation with someone sitting next with u. Its always easier going through the day with a friend then being a loner walking the hallways. We want to avoid that so do what you gotta do to NOT be in that situation.

On the first day bring a folder with some paper and a pencil. The will most likely not penalize u if u dont bring anything cuz you didnt know. AND WATCH THIS. If you dont bring anything you have to ask to borrow something from someone. and thats how you will make a good friend on the first day.

Be at school by 7:00am atleast on the first day. U need to find ur way around. I take the bus to school so i get there when mostly everyone else does.

  7. Uhhhh....I'm only in 7th, but for the time thing, you should get there by 7:00am.  My brother has the same time thing. Sorry about the infomation.

  8. Ok just dress normally and act as yorself. Arrive to class at about 6:50-7 o clock cuz you might not see your friends and you don't want to regret being too early so pretty much act casual. Good luck in highschool.

  9. im going to high school as well but just get up at 6:00 so u wont be late

  10. i would say get to school a half hour early cuz it's your first day

    just be your self

stay with some close friends  and you will be fine
