  1. Don't be late to class, get your homework done, build friendships with your teachers (you're going to need them to know you well so they can write a good recommendation for college for you), don't stop in the middle of the hallway to talk, keep your drama to yourself.

  2. its pretty cool. you get used to it quickly. im gonna be a sophomore in september

  3. When I started high school I was really nervous too, especially since I had been homeschooled all through middle school and didn't really know anyone. I suppose the best advice would be to just relax. The first couple of days can be really slack. Things will become routine before you know it.

  4. I'm not gonna lie. The first day is kind of intimidating. But you'll get uesd to it. Don't believe any rumors that people tell you. Don't be afraid of anyone, upperclassmen will pick on your more if you let them know it bothers you. Just take it easy, stay with a little group of friends and you accomodate to it shortly. After the first week its really not bad at all. Don't worry. =]

  5. Same here, i think ill just make friends with a bunch of gangsters.

  6. dont be scared

  7. Don't worry, you will be fine. High School is fun and meeting new people and being friendly is key to feeling better.

  8. i think almost every kid feels this way before their first day. You will probably love it.. I know i did. You should join some sport or activity that will help you make some more friends and it will make your high school experience more enjoyable.. nothing to time consuming but something that will help.. good luck..=]

  9. I'm gonna be a senior this year and the best advice I can give you is to act like yourself and not like how everyone else is acting. Stay out of the upper classmen's way...you're way too young to mess with us or attend parties with us..it will put you in the wrong crowd. Don't hang around s***s and don't gossip. Also, don't make it a habit to go out with alot of guys. Just find a group of friends and try to be nice to practically everyone.

  10. its nothing nervous to be about except getting lost and if ppl u know froom your old jr highschool then chill with them til u meet new ppl

  11. Don't act like you're cool because your neighbor is a Senior.

You are a freshmen. You're a bottom feeder and nobody cares about you.

Within your own kind, don't be rude and don't try too hard to be something you're not. Also, don't be annoying.

  12. high school is nuthin to be nervous about its just more kids and bigger then a middle school just make friends its very easy in high school

  13. The most important thing to keep in mind when going into high school is to be yourself. Don't try to make yourself out to be anything at all that you're not, because people can and will find out.

Additionally, I don't know what your middle school was like, but high school teachers will not care about things such as

    a) giving a test on the same day as another one of your teachers

    b) giving multiple projects or strenuous assignments

    c) how much homework you already have in one night.

It's definitely best to just learn to cope with things and manage your time wisely so you can accomplish everything you need to.

It may not seem like the coolest thing to do sometimes, but be respectful to your teachers and administrators, as well – not only are they adult figures in your life that, regardless of how much you might dislike them, you can't get rid of, but they also are capable of becoming very handy for admission to colleges or job recommendations. If you leave a good impression, you can come back to certain teachers and ask them to write you letters of recommendation which are very, very helpful.

Best of luck in your new school year!

  14. it is going to be lots of fun just be yourself and make sure to do your homework.

  15. DEFINITELY don't spread rumors.  Just let them pass you.. that will really help.  Don't act like you're all that.. upperclassmen HATE that, and don't s***w with the upperclassmen. lol

  16. dont get in upperclassmen's way

and make friends with sophmores and juniors and seniors

    branch out

dont just stick with your freshmen people

    it'll make life easier!

good luck, it isnt that bad

  17. don't be scared

    tis fun!!!

& wayyy better than middle school

it's exciting & seems to go at a faster pace :D

  18. Use the search button cause this answer has been asked tons of times before. I'm starting high school too, and I'm feeling the same way you are, but seriously. This has been asked so many times.

  19. dont tell anyone your secrets because chances are that someone is going to tell.  Try not to gossip because it could get you in a lot of trouble( haha i know).  Ummm dont be bad in class because one of those teachers could be the one to give you college recomendation.  get good grades because it could be what makes your future.  If you get a boyfriend/girlfriend, dont let them change you (i know so many people who have changed and not for the good) and make sure to make time for your friends not just your bf/gf.  Get into clubs/sports, they r fun :)

  20. Don't be nervous, its not as bad as you expect. If you go to a prep school, you have nothing to worry about. Try to hang out with the right people. ;)

    Good Luck!

  21. If you are offered to attend a party inside a boys pants, respectfully decline.

  22. well..

first just be nice and yourself

    dunt talk bout anyone

    have a nice smile..

    dont be concieted

    or too quite..

make friends with as much ppl

    be loyal to everyone..

    be honest

    again number one rule..

    no spreading rules..

and 2nd number one rule just be yourself..

  23. im starting my third year and i still hate it....cant wait for college

  24. Dont make eneimes and dont gossip cuz its spreads like a wild Fire.

  25. WOW... how many times is this gong to be asked?!?! Hey Im in the same situation, but some things are just obvious...

Don't do drugs/ get high or ridiculous c**p like that

Don't waste your time making your locker and binder look "pretty"

    BE YOURSELF...

Don't go and buy all the clone trends just to fit in unless you really like it or something...

Do join clubs and be in Sports - you'll be active, find new friends and more people can relate to you...

STAY CALM.... and be excited! You are going to have a Great Time!

    GOOD LUCK!

  26. If you befriend the right people, you can get anything you want.

  27. everything will be fun, just make sure to be friendly, don't start drama because ppl WILL jump you, and over all be yourself- thats the only way ppl can get to know you for who you truly are.

  28. just be yourself. dont pretend to be like people. in the end everyone likes you because you're you!. just have fun and be nice!

  29. whatever you do...don't drink the water in the toilet...lol

seriously though... make lots of friends and join lots of clubs. don't forget to suck up to teachers who may be able to help you in the future.

  30. just don't get in to the girl drama/gang drama scenes, it's not worth it, and high school is way more fun without it

don't try to stick out as a freshman, just try to get the hang of high school, and THEN get noticed the next year or two

don't bring your weed to school

figure out early how to skip class and get away with it

don't be loud and obnoxious, and don't get in the way of any upperclassmen

i mean, stick up for yourself, but just dont get in the way in the first place

don't waste your time decorating the **** out of your locker, its not worth it

listen to the upperclassmen when they give you advice about which teachers are cool, which ones are lame, which ones are easy, etc

guidance councilors are there to help you, but try not to get involved with them too much, they'll end up getting you in trouble with your parents or something

it's a good idea, no matter who you are, to be really friendly and cool with the principal, secretaries in the office, the dean, the vice principal, etc etc, they really will give you a break later on, even if they think you're a troublemaker

good luck, just remember not to be loud and obnoxious

    =)
