First day of high school tomorrow?

I'm so nervous

I've been dreading this all summer

I mean, I already have a lot of friends going there, it's just that I'm bad at making friends because I'm shy around people I haven't met

What if in some classes they don't have assigned seating and I have to pick a seat? wtf do i do?

and what about lunch time,

there's different lunch periods and what if like all of my friends are in the other ones and I'm all alone? I swear, I'm going to sit in the effing bathroom, because it'll just be g*y if you go up to people you don't know and you're like "oh hey, I'm joining your conversation"

same her mines in 9 days I'm sooo nervous but don't worry if you over think you will think the worst just go on the first day and I'm sure it will be fine and in my new high school you dont have to eat in the cafeteria you can eat where ever so just sit. and for not assigned seating it doesn't have to be by your friends this is not a chatting time so go near the front you will be able to pay more attention. hope i helped good luck

Don't worry, I had the same experience.  But, just go with the flow and try to be more friendly, have a decent personality and a great smile.  You will have friends than you'll ever realize.

Haha, It's ok my friend. EVERYONE is like that when before they enter highschool. When I started Highschool 2 years ago, I was with only 2 of my friends! We were going to a different Highschool that we liked. So the three of us just entered, we noticed that more than half the people didn't have ONE friend going to their highschool with them. So I sat down and chatted with my friends and some other guys who were sitting with us. So we kept chatting the whole day. And the relationship kept building up eveyday, until hey! We're best friends!!

So don't worry, you will do fine, don't freak out. Just chat with the people next to you and I'm pretty sure that they will ALL be in the situation as you! So they will want to make friends as well. :)

Oh hi, you're on my contact thingy. Haha. Well my first day.. I was just myself and talked to the people near me in class a little. Not alot because, yes, like everyone else I was nervous. But I made the effort, and eventually the first week went by and I had already been meeting plenty of new people. Don't let yourself get pushed around by the upperclassmen, I hate those jerks who think they can push the freshies around, they're already nervous as it is. So, just chill out. Be yourself. You'll find people to talk to and hang out with in a matter of time. Dress cute, look for some of your old friends, talk about your schedules and stuff, whatever, just chill. It'll be fine. The first weeks are the best, not the first day.

High school is not like the movies!!

If there isn't assigned seating just sit in the middle of the room and smile and say hi to whoevers next to you. And about lunch, don't eat in the restroom, thats gross. Just start talking to someone in your class right before lunch and walk with them to the cafeteria and sit with them. If you don't know what to say just ask them what they did over the summer and compliment them on their outfit and just ask them if they're gonna play any sports and random stuff like that. Don't worry, you'll be fine, and chances are you'll have the same lunch with someone you know.

My first day ran pretty smoothly. I had lunch and tons of classes with people I already knew, which I kind of wish I hadn't because then I could have made new friends instead of talking to the same people.

Sorry I cannot be more help, but if it helps, I am in the same situation. I am nervous about the same things. My only tips are to be nice and friendly, look nice, and be confident. Good luck!

Aw don't worry!

Highschool is nothing to worry about!

I doubt ALL of your friends are gunna be in a different lunch period, and don't just sit in the bathroom cuz it's kind of gross in there, just go for walks and stuff and maybe you'll see someone in one of your classes that you can be friends with!

And in classes without assigned seating, sit next to the smallest cutest girl there, they're usually the nicest!

And if there's older people in your classes, like higher grades and stuff, try not talking to them because a lot of them are rude but if they talk to you then talk to them or else they'll be jerks to you.

Uhhhm and ESL kids are generally really really nice! And they're more likely to talk to you outside of class and stuff :)

Just have fun and don't worry about not having friends in classes and stuff, there'll always be people who are going to be your friend!

I'm going to be a Junior in High School, this year, but I still remember the first day. It was a little nerve wracking but just remember that everyone else is feeling the same way.

Smile and just be nice. I am sure you will end up loving it.

Freshman year was actually my favorite year so far!!

doode I start tommorow too and I'm efing scared. I onli know 2 ppl going to my school that I know. Plus my school is a new school. this is gonna be scary. Plus I gotta wake up at 5 I clock in the morning. Yikes.  Wish me luck cause I wish it to you.
