  1. Aww, good luck!! I totally understand.  I started high school last year, and I was extremely nervous. But you can relax. I've never been bullied, harrassed, offered drugs, or gotten into a fight. I made a lot of great friends all year and became really involved.  GOOD LUCK!

  2. not at all!

movies make high school seem like its h**l. but in all reality, it's really fun!

the only reason why you're scared is because there will be new people and you'll be in a new environment.

after a few weeks, the nervousness will be longggg gone.

trust me, i went through the same thing last year.

high school will be the best 4 years of your life!

    hope this helps!

  3. don't believe movies...

Just relax, its just any other day of school, but in a different building...Find you friends and hook up. Be yourself.

  4. I'm sure you will be fine! High school in movies and tv shows is always so exaggerated! There are plenty of people going through exactly what you're going through right now, so don't panic! Just stay on top of your school work, and don't fall behind, and you'll get used to the schedule and how high school works before you know it!

And next year, this time, you'll meet some other incoming freshman and give them some words of wisdom on how it's really not that bad at all :)

    Good luck, you'll be fine!

  5. Its really no big deal, high school is fun, best years of your life, just enjoy it, whats the worst that could happen?

  6. High school should be fun! I am going into Middle School but my mom tells me it was awesome!

  7. High school is great! Just be yourself. You'll have fun and it will be over before you know it, so take every opportunity you can!  It's not as scary as it seems, especially if you make nice friends.  Yeah, people smoke, do drugs, fight, and do other stupid stuff, but they're only messing up their own lives, so those are some not so great things.  But other than that, no need to worry, and don't forget, it's everyone else's first day too!

9 Uncommon Tips for High School Freshmen:

    1. Follow the direction of the crowds to get to your next class (for example, at my school, you always stay to the right). This helps so that you don't crash into anyone and you don't end up dropping everything and waiting to pick it up (after everyone has stepped on it...).

    2. Don't procrastinate. I know I'm being hypocritical when I say it, but seriously, if you have something to do, just do it. Then you can spend what would be your "last-minutes" doing something you enjoy.

    3. Don't be afraid to talk to teachers. They really can help you. And don't be afraid to correct them or suggest something, as long as you DO IT NICELY.

    4. When you know where your locker is and which classes you have where, plan a way to carry books for about two classes at once. It's possible (but a pain) to carry more, so if you can figure it out now, go for it. Also, as a bonus, if a friend is willing to share a locker that's in a different part of the school (and perhaps you share yours too), this makes it easier to get books. Our school has two levels and because a friend was nice, I had a place for stuff upstairs and downstairs.

    5. Don't be afraid to talk to new people. You might be surprised to learn something new about someone that you may have judged before.

    6. Don't forget your gym clothes. Keep a spare set in your locker. The majority of people who fail P.E. did because of "unprepareds."

    7. You'll have great days and terrible days, but try to always look on the bright side. It will pay off in the long run. Who wants to remember freshman year as a bad one?

    8. Take pictures. You can remember (and laugh again at some) for years to come.

    9. Have a great freshman year! :-)

P.S. "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind." -Dr.Seuss

Edit two days later: How did it go?  I hope it went well.  :-)
