First day of school special dinner ideas?

*tear* SOB!!! I put my firstborn on the school bus today for his first day of Kindergarten. I want to have a special dinner to celebrate BOTH of us surviving his first day in the cold, cruel world. He was too nervous this morning to give me ideas. Does anyone ideas for a fun meal/celebration?

I'm hoping the planning of this will distract me until that school bus brings my baby home!

I would make his favorite food or go out to his favorite restaurant. Then after dinner, go out for Ice cream with your family! It is a way to make him feel special and happy about Kindergarten.

Aww, I know how you're feeling. When my first born started Kindergarten, I was sobbing like there was an end to the world. It's okay. Like " 29 weeks to go" said he's in GOOD, SAFE, hands probably enjoying the comfort of other children. When he comes home , ask him what his FAVORITE food in the world is, and make a cake after. You can decorate it after baking :)

grilled chesse sandwiches cut  into shapes with cookie cutters, or mac and cheese

how about jello jigglers or cake or brownies for dessert--or take him out to ice cream?

talk about his day with him, and let him know you care! give him a big hug!

aw baby girl its ok hes in good hands and is probably having a lot of fun right now but about the dinner maybe cook his favorite meal and favorite desert or since its friday you could go out to his favorite restaurant even if thats mcdonalds and maybe if you go out just you your husband and your son can go to make it more special
