Question:

First day of school worries?

Ok so I have two worries and I'm putting it into one question.

1. I fell asleep at eleven last night and I woke up at nine this morning! I need to wake up earlier! What are some things I can do to make me fall asleep earlier? Please don't suggest and medications.

2. I don't know if I have gym the first day of school or not, and I was planning to wear ballet flats. If I didn't have tennis shoes the first day of school and I had gym, would I be in trouble?

  2. 1. just go to be when your tired. set an alarm or two to wake you up. and tomorrow night you'll be able to go to sleep early. you may be tired tomorrow. but oh well. who doesnt get tired at school?

    usually the first day of school is just to get used to everything

    i go back to school not this thursday but next thursday. and thursday and friday are just days to get used to the two different days of classes.

    2. but no you will not get in trouble. just say you didnt know.

  4. well for fallin asleep early just get into bed earlyer and then listen to music or turn on the tv (that always helps me get to sleep) and after a while ull start to get used to goin to sleep earlyer and get an alarm clock for ur room and that will wake u up on time

    as for the first day this sctually happened to me last year the very first day of school i had gym 3rd period and i was wearin flats i doubt that u will get in trouble for it cause its not like u could help that u didnt know what ur schedual was like and on the first day almost no one will be dressed for gym class

  5. im going into 11th grade and for me the first day of gym was usually getting your locker given to you and no changing till like the 2nd or 3rd class. so i wouldnt worry about that. its the first day i dont think the gym teachers are gonna be expecting too much. and get an alarm clock or have a family member wake you up  

  6. 1. Before bed, don't have any caffeine or anything that might keep you awake. Go to bed at 10:00 SHARP and set an alarm for 6:30 or 7:00 or whatever time you need to be up at.

    2. Wear your ballet flats; they can't get you in trouble for not having gym shoes if you didn't know it was gym.

  7. what time do you have to wake up? you should have at least 8 hours of sleep so do the math so you will be well rested. get an alarm clock or set it on your cell. some tv's and stereos have a timer on it that will come on for a set time.

    bring a gym bag and just leave it in your school locker. don't you have your schedule, it should say on it if you have gym. most likely you won't get in trouble because almost everyone will be unprepared for gym class. the first day of gym is usually just an overview and you will start the real activities the next day. good luck


  8. Read a book that always makes me sleep. Or do some exercises or something like that will tire you out.

    I don't think you'll be in trouble the first day for no tennis shoes. I don't really think any kid goes to school ready for gym class. Especially on the first day they are typically dressed up and look cute.

  9. Read something really really boring or turn up your favorite radio station and start dancing for an hour before going to bed. Don't drink/eat anything sugary or an energy drink. So stay away from junk food and coffee and energy drinks. Do something tiring today. Like go swimming for a couple hours.

    You will have gym. But you won't gym. Let me explain that a little better. Its gonna be on your schedule and everything. You're going to go to it. They aren't going to make you run or anything. They're gonna do roll call which takes up most of the period since the gym teachers don't know your names yet. They're gonna go over some of the rules and that'll probably be the end of that period. That's how it's done at my school. You probably won't have to get changed for gym into gym clothes until...probably 2 or 3 weeks from now.

  10. I honestly don't think you'd have gym on the first day of school, and, even if you did, it's acceptable to not be prepared for something like that. I wouldn't worry about it.

    I always had trouble getting up early for school, all through my academic career. Set several alarms to wake you super-early the first few days. After a week or so of that, you'll be so exhausted by early evening that you should fall asleep earlier and wake up earlier without problems.

  12. 1. dont drink anything with caffiene in it atleast an hour before you want to go to bed.

    dont go on the computer right before you go to bed (apparently it simulates daylight and confuses your brain or something)

    exersize or get outside during the day so youll be more tired

    2. your not going to be expected to bring anything for gymclass the first day of school. if you do have it, i really doubt youll do anything remotly physical becuase your teacher will be talking about the rules and stuff like that. so no, you wont get in trouble.

  13. You never have gym on the first day of school and if you do they can't blame you for not bringing shoes.

    As for sleeping. Try taking a nice warm bath before bed. Then have a bedtime snack (so you have a full belly when trying to sleep). Get comfy on your bed and read a good book for 15-30 minutes so your eyes get tired. That always works for me.

  14. Usually, I just set my alarm and make myself get up. Sometimes I set it for earlier than I actually need to get up so that I'm really tired and ready to go to bed earlier. Also, cut back on the caffeine. For the second thing, you never really do much on the first day of class. If you're worried about it though, why not put some tennis shoes in your locker just in case?

  15. i would of woken up really early today, so i could of went to bed earlier tonight. that's what i'm going to do next week when i go back. but, since you woke up late already, just start laying down about an hour before you actually want to fall asleep with no tv and no music. you should fall asleep.

    no, i don't think you would be in trouble. i didn't have sneakers on the first day of my gym, and the gym teacher just said to make sure we had them from now on. it wasn't a big deal and i didn't get in trouble or anything.

  16. 1. Turn off all lights. Turn off all television. Sometimes, if you listen to music it helps you to. Then in the morning set alarms.

    2. Usually you don't have gym but bring a pair of tennis shoes in your back pack. and you probably wouldn't but you don't want to make a bad impression so just bring it.

  17. the whole back to school thing is a real bummer for kids. are you going into middle school?

    1 i would say go to bed around 9:30 to get a decent ammount of sleep. dont worry you will fall into a schedule eventully

    2 get a mesh bag ans store you pe shoeds and clothes in it

    bring your lunch teh first week because lunch is usually really chaotic

    settle down in bet early tonight , read a book or somthign if your not tired yet, set an alarm , tommorw drink a couple of cups of coffee and you will be ship shape lol

    as for the first day? well its always a doss because remeber all the teachers are just as tired as you. its usally a causal day of people just getting back into the swing of things , i highly doubt you will have a active PE lesson. probably just a talk n stuff

  19. 1. I have a way to fix it, but since you aren't all that messed up, just set your alarm to wake you up an at 8 am tomorrow, then 7, and continue until you reach your time. Maybe a little before you need to wake up for school. To keep from falling asleep again, once the alarm goes off, you get up and out of bed. Go make breakfast, it'll keep you concentrated.

    2. Every school is different. Maybe keep some shoes in your locker and put them in your backpack or carry them when you're going to gym.

  20. 1. You can either set an alarm really loud or do something stupid like if its reall hot put the covers over you and you will wake up soon enough becuz you are hot to take the covers off. Or dont use the bathroom before you go to bed. And you will wake up so you can go to the bathroom. But usually the day before the first day of school I go into bed like at 9:30 and I dont fall asleep until like 2:00am but i usually wake up early because im so excited for school!!

    2. Just wear your flats and if you get introuble complain you didnt know. Or Carry an extra bag with shoes in it.
