  1. With all of my pregnancies, I have always had a pap test done at my first visit.  They would do the dipstick in the urine test and then give me papers for bloodwork and urine culture to be done at the hospital.  Good luck today and congratulations!!

  2. They will do blood work, a genetic history (ie. ask you about family history of genetic problems) they will do a urine test, they will do a pap smear and pelvic exam.  They will do a breast exam.   You likely won't do an ultrasound until around week 23-25ish unless there is a medical reason to do one sooner.   You'll do a urine test from now on through your pregnancy at every visit.  During the second trimester around week 21 you'll do the glucose test, where you drink incredibly sweet thick syrup and then wait an hour and get your blood drawn to screen for Gestational Diabetes.   You'll have your blood pressure and weight checked at every visit.   Starting at about week 12 you'll hear the baby's heartbeat at every visit.   You'll get several tests during the course of your pregnancy, more in some circumstances.

  3. It all depends on the doctor, I got blood work and urine done on my first visit.. Then the next time I went I had to get a pap done. Good luck with your pregnancy, it sure does go by fast it feels like just last week i was going to my first appointment and today I'm going to the big scan!

  4. Your doctor will do a urine test to confirm the pregnancy if he/she hasn't already done so,when he/she confirms the pregnancy they will get you to have some blood work done which is to check the HCG levels they do this to make sure they are doubling every 2-3 days like they should be.Congratulations.

  5. No, no pap. And it may be one or the other (or maybe both) blood and/or urine. And your height/weight will also be checked. But that's it. Pain free & comfortable. :)
