First line of story idea, please help!?

for my english homework im writing a story.and i need to describe the sky, but my minds gone blank and i can't think of any similes for it, like the sky looked like.... please hellppp!!! :)

ps. its in the day time so its light.

You can say that the sky looked like (had) a pulchritudinous blue, as if Heaven was opening up to earth below.  If anything (no malcontent meant) you Can get a Thesaurus. I've found that my vocabulary really heightened w/it. It also helped w/the Brain Freezes per say.

Do u have to use similes only? what about adjectives and all?

It was a bright summer day,

I ran outside to the meadows,

With a couple of my fellows.

We chat and laughed, chat and laughed,

Until the sky caught our eye.

Never in our lives,

Have we seen such a sight.

A sight so bright,

It blocked all that light.

On that bright summer day.

Well I tried. Couldn't bother to finish.

It was just a little thing i made up while typing.

It just came to me.

I know it's stupid.
