I'm getting my first longboard and am looking for a high performace board. I tried it the first wave I rode I had a nose ride, I've been using friends boards ever since andI need to buy one. I am wondering what qualities would be ina high performance longboard, is it the same thickness as a regular longboard, should there be thrusters, should I have a big main fin and what would be the best board type for some really innovative stuff, I'm doing airs cutbacks floaters nose rides hanging ten after like 2 weeks and I think I need to get something that I won't outgrow too fast. I'm buying a used board so models would be great, I can look for a board pretty similair to it. Thanks for all the help!

  1. Do not buy a pop out board.  Get a real one.  Look at a few shaper's websites, talk to the bros at your local surf shop.  Look on ebay or craigslist.  you can also check some websites on surfboard design, just google it and they will tell you what you're looking for.

And by airs, do you mean on a shortboard?  Bc airs on a longboard, get real.

  2. well i think if you have been surfing for 7 years you should know the answer to you own question or at least no what to do other than comeing on here asking the question

  3. Just talk to your local shaper, he should be able to recommend a good board if he is a good shaper.
