First loss in six games, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Los-Angeles-Galaxy-c39818 hit by lightening—Major League Soccer
A disappointing end for Los Angeles Galaxy at Pizza Hut Park as the team left the ground with a defeat to show for their efforts. Hosts http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brek-Shea-c8033 made sure his team got the points they deserved by scoring a goal
two minutes from time. The Hoops grabbed three points from the field with the final score reading 2-1.
The first half remained scoreless as both the goalkeepers, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Donovan-Ricketts-c11558, were impressive on the field and kept the score line at 0-0. The second half, however, took a different route and FCD scored the opener. The California-based team
responded quickly, scoring their first goal five minutes into the restart. Shea then sealed the match in the 88th minute to bag the match at his home ground.
“Honestly we didn’t feel like we deserved to lose the match,” Galaxy assistant coach Dave Sarachan said. “I thought the initiative to make the game and come out and play was very good. The goals we conceded, the first you could argue was a foul on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Todd-Dunivant-c35186
– the last was a fitting end to a weird night.”
A major reason behind Los Galacticos’ disappointment was the lightening storm that stopped the play for over an hour. The match officials decided to suspend the match in the 83rd minute and both the teams were sent to their respective locker rooms.
However, the play resumed 60 minutes later and brought luck to FCD.
Bruce Arena, Los Galacticos coach, introduced http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Juan-Pablo-c19796 Angel to create the difference in the game, but it was Shea who stole the show in the closing stages of the match.
Despite his good performance in the game, experts believe Beckham was weary owing much to a trip to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Royal-95-c40387 Wedding in London. However, the player returned the night before to take part in the MLS action.
“I felt great,” Beckham said. “I rested, I slept, I had two really good nights’ sleep before the game, so I was more than prepared for the game and felt like I played well. It was not an issue.”
“Obviously it was a weird game,” skipper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Landon-Donovan-c21646 said of the game. “It’s not something either team is used to playing in, that weather and then having a lengthy delay. We’re all disappointed and upset, but not really sure what to be upset about.”
The Western Conference champions are scheduled to return home for next week’s match against Eastern Conference champions, New York Red Bulls, at Home Depot Center on May 7.
