Question:

First meet tommorow!! help!?

i have my first xc meet tommorow...its two miles....how do you stay calm? another problem is every two mile time trial i have done so far have been at a slower pace than my normal 3 mile pace because i get so nervous and do bad? any suggestions?

  1. dont worry about the nervousness. i am in my fifth year in cross country, and still get so nervous before every race that i almost pee on myself. but thats actually a good thing. youll find that your only nervous b4 the start, and when you start, it all turns in to one big adrenaline rush. just be nervous, and when you start, it will all go away, and youll be rally pumped up! i went through the same problem that you did, dont worry!

  2. calm down do some stretches, when you run dont run too fast because 2 miles is long. if you can run a mile like in 6 min try running 6:40 each mile.
