1. Extra gloves and socks without a doubt. Your ski jacket and pants. Long underware. Some comfortable shoes that you can wear while walking on icy streets my help. A good warm hat or two. Sunglasses and sunscreen!!!

  2. Here I thought I'd seen everything but after 40yrs of skiing something different pops up. lol. when I was a kid on the national team dry training meant running up and down...usually in an squatted, crablike position Creigleith hill which was only made bearable by knowing that the next month(August) meant a trip to New Zealand skiing between the rocks and dry patches.

Bring clothing that will keep you dry. Gloves that have a gortex liner are best. Snow is wet...wet skiers are miserable so stay dry and happy. Goggles or glasses will keep snow from pelting your eyes...when you're travelling down a hill at 60kph a soft little snowflake doesn't feel so light and fluffy when it hits your eyes.

Fill that suitcase with Euros...ski lodge food is terribly expensive

  3. You're going to have fun! Dry clothes are important, so at least 2 pairs of gloves or mitts especially if you don't have access to a dryer. Other than that - a ski Helmet! (lined & warm), ski jacket, snow pants, ski socks, long undies or underarmour, turtleneck, polar fleece shirt, neck warmer(or helmet liner), goggles, ski lock, short wave radios & charger, skis or snowboard (& wrist guards), poles, boots, clothes for apres ski, sunscreen, lip balm, kleenex, and all the other odds & ends for any trip - cell phone, MP3 player, credit card... Perhaps an english/Italian phrase dictionary for conversing with hot guys...

  4. Dry Slopes? Is that like a "Dry County"? If I didn't have booze when I was learning to ski I don't think I would've made it. Kudos to you!

But...I'm sure they'll have liquor in Italy. Bring some Asprin for the next day if you're not used to drinking and skiing. A few beers during lunch is OK. Save the mixed drinks and wine for when you are done. You don't want to blow chunks half-way up the ski lift or doze off while you are skiing.

    Have Fun!

I'd say bring a bathing suit for the hot tub...but everyone just goes nude in the jacuzzis!
