  2. Man!  The both of you are in a tough situation!  It comes down to a choice.  Will he do everything within his power to protect and support this child?  If not then he shouldn't be in the picture.

Having a child who is completely dependent upon it's parents is an absolute lifelong responsibility.  Even the most dedicated parents make LOTS of mistakes.  It's not about being perfect it's about NOT making the mistakes that happen out of selfishness.  Every decision you make for the next eighteen or so years will have to be made through the consideration of your offspring.  Where to live, what to eat, what to drive, recreation, career,  you name it.

Providing for a child is not about material 'wants' at all, THE best number one GIFT a parent can give a child is his/her TIME.  Forget game machines, the 'birthday pony' etc. all that can be nice but it can't replace your everyday presence in your child's life.

Go into this with the knowledge that this IS the ultimate responsiblity in life.  It IS life!  Your parents will come around when they see the dedication demonstrated by your actions.

    God bless you
