First time Ebay shopper?

Question

Ok im a first time buyer on Ebay and i dno hw to go about it, i kno tht ebay can rip u off n tht so can sum1 who has bot alot of stuff on ebay help me? so tht i dnt pick the wrong person to buy from?

im trying to buy a sony vaio laptop and i want a good bargain, a fair price.

And if it helps i dnt want to pay over 800

Honestly, the best you can do is look at their seller rating (the closer to 100% the better) and read through the comments and see if the person is legit.  If you can, once you've decided on the laptop you want e-mail the seller first and ask them a few questions just to see if you get a specific response.  I also believe that Paypal has buyer protection over a certain $ amount (someone correct me if I'm wrong) so I would pay that way.  Also, know the specs of the laptop you want and make sure the posting lists those specs and match that laptop.
