I am using clearblue ovulation predictor kit. On thursday, the 15th day of my cycle, the test showed a dark blue line for the LH surge, but the reference line seemed much lighter than usual. We made love thursday night, but I am not sure if there was a proper surge, or if it was a false positive. I tested first morning urine (instructions say its ok to test this). Friday morning, both lines were light and same shade of blue. Saturday morning - OPK negative. Here is my question -

1) Do you think i had a false positive on thursday or because the LH surge line was a dark blue, it was the right time?

2) We had intercourse on day 12 and day 15 of my cycle. I am having really bad stomach cramps. Could this be an early sign of pregancy or just a regular tummy ache? (the aches are in my stomach, not lower abdomen)

3) In case i have ovulated and somehow, miraculously, the sperm fertilize the egg, are there any special things i should do to ensure the egg implants itself into my uterus?

  1. The trick with opk's is that you want the LH line to be AS DARK or DARKER than the reference or control line.  So I would say you got your positive on the Thursday.  If you BD on the 15th day which is the day you got your "positive" your timing would be pretty good.  DO NOT start looking for pregnancy signs....it's WAY too early.  If the egg DID get fertilized it takes 6-12 days for implantation to occur, and Hcg (the hormone that starts drivin you mad, changing your body and gives you positive hpt) does not start to produce until implantation has happened.  All you can do is keep yourself healthy, stay away from alcohol, smoking and really limit or eliminate your caffeine intake.  Just don't drive yourself crazy looking for pregnancy signs...... it will make your two week wait feel like two months!!  Good luck!
