she's using foaming facial cleanser first, and then a 2% Salicylic Acid acne pad.

it seems to be doing real well but she says the pad leaves a tingling/almost like burning sensation on her face.

can she wipe off her face with a wet rag or rewash after the acne pad or is that the medication working?

  1. You can use Proactive  Also you can take a hot washcloth to apply on your 11 year old acne, it works well. I recommend buying OXY Daily Cleansing Pads,Stridex Facewipes,Clearasil Daily Face Wash, and Noxzema Triple Clean Pads

  2. you could try clearasil wipes or any other products they have made.neutrogena facial wash.ect...

  3. reduce doasge and use a regular soap.

  4. She may be extra sensitive, I am.  Even with the "Sensitive Formula"  Sea Breeze, my face burns and gets all red unless I rinse after I use it.  It doesn't make the medication not work, as the medicine gets down in the pores where it actually does its job, it just gets the excess off the skin.

P.S.  Always start a facial wash with water as warm as she can possibly stand...this will open up the pores.  Stay with the warm water till the very end.  After using the Salicylic Acid pads, rinse once with warm water, then again with cold water and she shouldn't have that burning.  Also, make sure that the facial cleanser stays on her face for at least 2 minutes.

P.P.S  Since she obviously has very sensitive skin, make sure to put a great emphasis on moisturizer and SUN BLOCK!  Women with sensitive skin have worse age spots when we are older, so taking precautions about this all our lives is important.  (Because I've always done this, I'm now a 31 year old woman that is often mistaken for early 20s.)

  5. One thing is she shouldn't use a wash cloth (if that's what you mean by "rag").  Wash cloths/face cloths are irritating, and irritating her face will make more breakouts.  Also, there can be bacteria in face cloths.

If the purpose of the pad is to do a good cleaning job, then it wouldn't matter if she gently rinses her face once the good cleaning job has been done with the pad.  If the idea of the pad is to leave an anti-bacterial or astringent substance on the skin as well, then, of course, washing it off would stop it from doing at least part of its job,

There's also the chance the reason the pad stings is that she's irritating her face first with the cleanser.  If she's using a wash cloth with the cleanser, then that's what's irritating her skin.

  6. If she just started using it wait 2 days and make sure it doesn't leave a rash. My ten year old just started using acne pads and it left a red rash on her face like a rug burn after 48 hours.

We switched to Noxzema and her doctor recommended it. It is so much better- hardly no burning and no more pimples after a week. Plus she can use it daily.

  7. Fill up a bowl with rubbing alchohol then have her dunk her head in there :3 JOKES JOKES Don't do IT XD LMAO
