I like to give everything a try and football is just something ive never done. I got a job during the summer so i was kinda afraid to ask the coach if i could try out.. but now i fixed up my work schedule and i have time for sports. I asked my high school coach if there was a chance for me to get in the team but i dont know what position id be best at or atleast according to my body structure what position id be "best" at. The thing is i dont want to seem like an ignorant kid that doesnt know wtf hes doing.. i always try to be the best at whatever i do but all i need is something to base it all on.

defence or offence

i dont really care as long as i get to kick someone's ***

Im 6'3 and i weigh about 200 pounds. I cant really bench much since ive never really lifted weights.. but who knows haha i have TONS of stress that i would just love to relieve so im guessing thatll help/

I learn quick and im in pretty good physical shape and i dont usually quit

  1. your big and tall which gives you versatility and if you have speed all the better and even if your not all that fast you can play and probably be a good tight end but if your fast defenitley WR. If not maybe tight end also make sure to hit da weightroom but watever happens good luck.

  2. the best position in football to relieve you stress is at linebacker for your size... you dont have to be fast and at your size you will be a head knocker to every person that comes near you... good luck and dont wait for them to come to you, you go get them!

  3. play reciever and cornerback

  4. If you are in high school your size right now will have you towering above everyone already. The fact that you are unfamiliar with the sport really isn't as much of an impediment as it seems, but it does limit your immediate options.

You probably won't make an impact at corner or wideout like one of the earlier responses suggested. A truly effective corner is instinctive based upon his experience and understanding of the game. since you are somewhat unfamiliar with the sport, then wide-receiver would prove a mammoth task as well, because you have so many responsibilities at WR, that you would wind up looking clumsy and oafish, if you ever saw the field. So let"s disregard that idiot with his "sound advice".

Half-back or full-back are both positions that you could think about, given your size, and the requirements of those positions. HB would have you receiving alot more punishment than you will inflict, but FB will give you the opportunity to lay some wood on some guys, as well as let you show off a little in short yardage, and clock management situations.

Sadly, this season will be a season of awkwardness for you, as you will be learning soooooo much, and honestly, applying your new knowledge poorly. We all went through it, so don't take it hard.

You will be looking at tight-end on offense, because: although it is a very important position, it is fairly straight foward in it's application. you're either blocking, or going out for a pass. Good opportunity to be the hero there too. You will be looking at defensive end on defense, for the same reasons.

Your size is phenomonal, but if you don"t know how to use it to your advantage, then it is, naturally, not as effective. Look at what Wes Welker did to opposing teams this past year. Practice your movement laterally, and get comfortable moving around. Don't be afraid to ask questions, and accept the answers. Ignore idiots on this forum giving you 7 word answers just to get their two points. Regardless of what happens with your position, the coach will assess you, and put you where you are best at. but you are more than likely looking at TE, and DE. It is annoying to me still that guys are telling you to play all of these skill, and knowledge intensive positions like LB, WR, CB, QB...

  5. if your fast, do offensive receiving. if not, do defense and do some weights. at ur size you'll be strong enough in no time

  6. foreal dog 6'3 200 pounds

if your fast play reciever or maybe even a corner

if your slow but still a little fast play tight end

no matter what position you play being 6'3 and 200 pounds you will definatley be decent if not great at what ever position

  7. if u r fast wr

    slow d=end or lb
