  1. buy a cheap car but ok to driving it.

    like less than $1000 car

    why?

because you have to pay tax to dmv, smog check, maintenance repair, pay insurance ( more expensive your car, more expensive your insurance)

you have to build your driving record,so you will pay insurance cheaper.

nothing to loose if there is big accident happen, just throw it.

  2. you first car i would buy a memoralbe car like a covertable or a covertable slug bug

  3. One that doesn't waste much gas!

Anyway, Nissans are prety reliable and have a lot of good features.

  4. 1. Honda Fit (base) - $15,385

    2. Mazda 3i Sport (sedan) - $17,205

    3. Hyundai Elantra SE - $17,945

    used?

    for $4,000

    look for

98 Acura CL, 98 Ford Mustang V6, 98 Honda Accord or Civic, 98 Nissan Frontier or Pathfinder, 98 Subaru Impreza or Legacy, 98 -00 Toyota Corolla or Echo 00

  5. You need to think about buying a used car.  Getting one with a loan means that 6 years from now you will have paid $10,000 (b/c of interest) for a car that was originally worth only $8000 and at the end of finally paying it off, it is only worth $4000, basically, you never get your money worth.  I like getting them with 20000 miles on them, b/c that knocks off a lot of the cost, plus it has A LOT of life left in in.

Look at gas mileage, you can find out about a vehicles gas mileage at my first website.

Also look at tires, when were the breaks last changed???, feel free to open up the hood and check the oil (I'm a girl, even I can do this simple task, if you need to know how, ask that in your next question LOL)  You can buy a gauge that helps you look at the radiator fluid too.  If it smells like smoke, you can deduct money off of what they are asking (even if you smoke, don't tell the seller)....I can't think of anything else but to test drive a handful of cars, so you can compare.  Also, if you have any large instruments (like drums) that you plan on taking with you regularly, make sure they would fit in the trunk.  Oh, check to make sure the radio works, my first cars radio died after two weeks b/c of a lose fuse.

    good luck and have fun.

Oh, and I strongly disagree about only paying less than $1000 on a car unless you are a mechanic.  You end up fixing it every other week, this tire goes flat, then that one, the muffler falls off.  My husbands first car was a clunker, the muffler fell off during one of our first dates :)  LOL it was so funny, but he was SOOOO embarrassed, why sink a bunch of money into a car that doesn't get you from point a to point b?

I also recommend getting full insurance, I totalled a $7,500 Jeep once and got a nice check in the mail for $8,200 to replace it....insurance can definitely pay off.

  6. I guess you should also check insurance quotes for the car before buying one, for example here: http://carquotes.imess.net

First time drivers usually have higher rates because they have much higher risk of accident.

  7. lol...ford fiesta....lol

    Honda Civic

    Nissan Versa

    Toyota Yaris

    Scion TC

  8. A sweet Ford Fiesta gets all the girlies.
